Shrimp Birds’ Nest with Edamame
Handy’s Shrimp Birds’ Nests are a show-stopping appetizer that brings flavor, texture, and convenience to your table. Made with plump shrimp, sweet onion, carrot, and kale wrapped in a light, crispy tempura batter, these savory “nests” are delicious straight from the oven or air fryer. Paired with tender edamame and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds, they transform into a vibrant and shareable dish that’s as easy to make as it is impressive to serve.

1 cup edamame (shelled or in pods, steamed according to package)

1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Handy’s included sauce packet (warmed)

Optional: soy sauce or extra sesame oil for drizzling

Keep Shrimp Birds’ Nests frozen until ready to cook.

Place the included sauce packet in a small bowl of warm water (about 110°F) to thaw.

Steam or microwave edamame until tender, then sprinkle lightly with salt.
Air Fryer Method (recommended for crispiness):

Preheat air fryer to 330°F.

Spray basket lightly with oil and place Shrimp Birds’ Nests inside.

Cook 10–12 minutes from frozen, until golden brown and heated through.
