Sweet, savory, and perfectly crispy, these Korean Crispy Shrimp Skewers combine crunchy Korean-style breaded shrimp with caramelized pineapple, sautéed red onion, and charred red bell pepper for an easy appetizer or flavorful weeknight meal. The crispy shrimp pairs perfectly with the sweet pineapple and smoky vegetables, while the included Korean sauce adds bold flavor and just the right amount of heat.
1 Package Korean-Style Crunchy Shrimp with Sauce Packet
1 Red Bell Pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 Red Onion, cut into chunks
1 Cup Pineapple Chunks
1 tbsp Neutral Oil
Sesame Seeds for Garnish
Wooden or Metal Skewers
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes before cooking.
Cut the red bell pepper, red onion, and pineapple into evenly sized pieces for easy assembly.
Place the sauce packet in a bowl of warm water (110°F) while preparing the remaining ingredients.
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with oil and place the frozen shrimp in the basket in a single layer.
Cook the shrimp at 350°F for 6 minutes, or until crispy, light golden brown, and heated thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165°F.
While the shrimp cooks, heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the red onion and red bell pepper to the skillet and sauté for 4–5 minutes until lightly charred but still crisp-tender.
Add the pineapple chunks and cook for an additional 2 minutes until lightly caramelized.
Thread the cooked shrimp, pineapple, red bell pepper, and red onion onto skewers.
Drizzle the warmed Korean sauce over the skewers or serve alongside for dipping.
Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
